Based on suggestions from our community, in order to discourage speculation and better encourage users to hold ONE for longer periods of time, BigONE will adjust the calculation of “Hold ONE to Get Trading Fee Rebate”. The new method is as follows:
Every day, the platform will take the snapshot at the end of each hour (X:59:59) to record each user’s balance of ONEs. The platform will calculate all trading fee received in the form of crypto assets on that day, and reallocate by the ratio of “the user’s average number of ONEs over the 24 snapshots / the sum of all users’ average number of ONEs held over the 24 snapshots.
After this adjustment, the new snapshot method will increase the rebate of users who hold ONE for a long time, and at the same time reduce the rebate of users who frequently sell ONE.
The change will take effect on July 11th, 2018. In other words, from July 12th, 2018 UTC+8, the rebated ONEs will be distributed according to the users’ average holding amount at the end of each hour of the previous day.
